OKW UK RECERTIFICATION TO ISO 9001:2015

In October 2020, OKW Enclosures Ltd. (manufacturer of the METCASE brand) successfully passed its ISO 9001:2015 recertification audit. The auditors bsi particularly praised the successful implementation of OKW's ISO crisis management/risk assessment procedures during the current Coronavirus pandemic. This ensured uninterrupted supply of products and services to customers, in particular to medical electronics manufacturers working to produce vital equipment for the NHS.

The recertification confirms that all relevant quality criteria for the design, manufacture and distribution of plastic and metal enclosures are met and that the processes are carried out transparently and in accordance with the standards.

New Larger Size XL Body-Case Wearable Enclosures

We have added a new size XL to our BODY-CASE range of fully wearable plastic electronic enclosures.

New BODY-CASE XL – like the existing M and L sizes – can worn like a watch on a standard 18 mm strap; each enclosure is supplied with two spring bars. BODY-CASE can also be hung around the neck on a lanyard, clipped to a belt/pocket, fitted to a key ring or carried loose.

OKW GERMANY RECERTIFIED TO ISO 9001:2015

At the beginning of September, we successfully passed the recertification audit in accordance with ISO 9001, Edition 2015. The DQS auditors, who spent two days on the company premises, especially praised the internal catalogue of measures and the company’s crisis management during the Corona crisis. In addition, positive emphasis was placed on the high motivation of the staff, trainee support and personnel development.

This successful certification once again confirmed that all of the relevant quality criteria for the development, production, finishing and distribution of enclosures/tuning knobs are observed and that the processes are conducted transparently and in compliance with the relevant standards.

New MINITEC Rings With Cutouts For USB Connectors

We have increased the range of USB connectivity options for our award-winning MINITEC plastic enclosures for personal electronic devices. USB-A and USB-B intermediate rings are now available as standard in ABS or infrared-permeable PMMA. No machining is needed. Previously, USB intermediate rings were offered only in soft-touch SEBS/TPE.

POLYCARBONATE IN-BOX ENCLOSURES NOW WITH TRANSPARENT TOPS

The IN-BOX enclosure range has been extended with 16 new models in UV-stable polycarbonate with transparent top parts. Sizes range from 84 x 82 x 55 mm to 302 x 232 x 110 mm. The transparent top offers several important advantage:

• Displays can be fitted directly on the PCB, e.g. LEDs for system status displays are visible from the outside
• Additional assembly and material costs for routing and wiring of components are avoided
• No need to machine the top part to fit a window or the display directly
• The high protection class remains unaffected.

NET-BOX Enclosures Pre-drilled For Faster Wall Mounting

Following customer demand, we have created a new Version II of our NET-BOX wall mount enclosures for control units and network nodes.

The mounting points on the rear section of the enclosure are now pre-drilled ready for the wall mounting screws — making it quicker and easier to install the electronics device in situ.

NEW SMALLEST SIZE EVOTEC ENCLOSURES

The robust EVOTEC family of enclosures has been extended with a new plan size 80. Two versions are available, with a high top part and a flat top part. The enclosures are in the colour off-white, RAL 9002, and have the following dimensions: 80 x 50 x 22 mm and 80 x 50 x 26 mm. The EVOTEC range of enclosures is ideal for electronics used in harsh working environments thanks to its robust design and the advantage of an optional seal (for protection class IP 65).
