EXTRUDED ENCLOSURES - ROUND, SQUARE, OVAL AND RECTANGULAR STYLES

OKW has added a wall mount element to its award-winning new SYNERGY electronic enclosures range – its first to be manufactured from both plastic and aluminium.

The element enables any of the 36 Round, Oval, Square and Edge (rectangular) enclosures in the SYNERGY range to be mounted on a wall with just one screw.

SYNERGY has been designed for high value applications including data systems engineering, network technology, building services systems, safety engineering, medical and therapeutic applications, measurement and control.

The new wall suspension element comprises two parts (a holder and a cover plate) and features two anti-slide feet. The components are moulded from UV-resistant ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0). They are RoHS and REACH compliant. The standard colour is Black (RAL 9005) but custom colours are available on request.

Earlier this year OKW’s SYNERGY range won an iF Product Design Award, the world-class manufacturer’s fifth iF trophy and its second in two years.

SYNERGY won praise for the extremely high quality of surface finishing on its extruded aluminium (AlMgSi 0.5) main body section – cases are blasted with glass beads – and its fast-connect construction system that conceals all the fixings.

Four internal assembly pillars hold each enclosure together. They snap into the recessed top panel, locate the assembly extrusion and are fixed to the bottom part with four stainless steel Torx T10 anti-tamper screws.

SYNERGY is offered in three plan sizes for each type ¬– Round and Square: 100 x 100 mm, 120 x 120 mm, 140 x 140 mm; Oval and Edge (rectangular) 160 x 80 mm, 180 x 90 mm, 200 x 100 mm – all in heights of 40, 70 or 100 mm.

The new wall suspension element is available as an accessory. Other accessories in the SYNERGY range include battery compartments for two, three or four 1.5V AA cells, an extender kit for the PCB pillars, PoziDriv self-tapping screws (PZ1 2.5 x 6 mm) and a Torx T10 screwdriver.

Customisation services include CNC milling and drilling, printing or engraving of legends and logos, special finishes and materials (including bioplastic), EMC shielding, plastic and aluminium panels, membrane keypads, display windows and assembly.
