Tablets are the logical solution for busy workers on the move but they have a downside – their undeniable fragility. Portable glass screens don’t tend to fare too well in harsh working environments. They’re highly vulnerable to accidental damage. Tablets need solid and dependable protection: tough IP rated enclosures that offer a real defence against all the daily challenges of life in the workplace.

So here at OKW we’ve created a new slim version of our CARRYTEC cases specifically for tablets. Find out more about the range here (and don’t forget to watch the video). Like all CARRYTEC enclosures, the new size M slim model (270 x 247 x 42 mm) has a robust integrated grip…with soft touch TPE so it’s comfortable to hold as well.

There is a large recess on the top to accommodate a touchscreen or membrane keypad. The underside has inset areas to protect any interfaces. But CARRYTEC is more than simply a great handheld instrument enclosure. It doubles as an excellent housing for use on suspension arms – invert it and that distinctive handle makes it easy to manoeuvre.

New size M slim CARRYTEC joins three wider sizes in the range: S (222 x 205 x 80 mm), M (270 x 247 x 91 mm) and L (348 x 303 x 117 mm). They are available as standard in either Off White (RAL 9002) ABS (UL 94 HB) for indoor use or Lava Grey ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0) for outdoor applications such as agriculture or forestry.

Wider models can accept a battery cradle (AA x 5). Charging/data transfer stations can be ordered as accessories (with/without base plates for desktop use or wall mounting).

CARRYTEC has been designed with the medical sector in mind so all the cases feature stainless steel Torx T10 tamperproof screws as standard and specially designed bedrail clamps as an accessory. Other accessories include a carrying strap plus left- and right-side protection bags for transporting instrument probes or cables.

Smart design means a probe can remain connected to the main unit at all times so you don’t have to reconnect it every time you take it out of the side bag. And like all OKW models, CARRYTEC offers a wealth of possibilities for electronics designers searching for custom plastic enclosures.
