Our RAILTEC B and C DIN rail enclosures offer a very wide choice of versions, variants and sizes (all of which can be customised). But what if you need something larger or even more specialised?

What if your application calls for a rugged plastic enclosure that’s bigger and tougher than our standard DIN rail enclosures? We offer various general adapters and fasteners specifically for this eventuality. They enable you to fit a wider range of OKW plastic enclosures to DIN rails (and other rails such as round or rectangular-profile tubes).

DIN rail holders for plastic enclosures

DIN RAIL FASTENERS FOR TOPTEC AND EVOTEC PLASTIC ENCLOSURES

Fastening elements B1300017 (off-white RAL 9002) and B1300019 (black RAL 9005) enable some of our TOPTEC and EVOTEC enclosures to be clipped to TH35 and G32 DIN rails. Assembly is easy; simply drill two ø 3 mm (ø 0.118") location holes in the enclosure. The adapter is supplied with two screws.

TOPTEC ABS (UL 94 HB) enclosures allow pre-assembled PCBs with protruding connectors and interfaces to be mounted directly into the case: there is no need to wire in the connectors after installing the PCB – speeding up the assembly process. The two fastening elements fit TOPTEC from size 123 F/H, making them suitable for sizes 154 and 194 as well.

EVOTEC (IP 65 optional) is an elegant tabletop enclosure that is equally at home on walls and DIN rails. These ASA+PC (UL 94 V-0) housings can be specified with either a flat or 12° sloping top. This ergonomically inclined top comes with/without a lid recess as standard. The adaptors are suitable for EVOTEC sizes 100, 125 and 150.

DIN RAIL FASTENERS FOR ROBUST-BOX (IP 66)

Our ROBUST-BOX (IP 66) industrial electronic enclosures can be fitted to TH35 DIN rails using the accessory DIN rail fastening elements. These are available in three sizes to suit the standard widths of the ROBUST-BOX. The fasteners are moulded in light grey (RAL 7035) as standard to match the case colour. All three sets feature a pair of fastening elements and an assembly kit comprising four screws. Specify:

  • C2201088 fastening elements for ROBUST-BOX 80 (80 mm wide)
  • C2203128 fastening elements for ROBUST-BOX 120 (120 mm wide)
  • C2204168 fastening elements for ROBUST-BOX 160 (160 mm wide).

ROBUST-BOX is a tough universal plastic enclosure for industrial electronics. It is available in ABS and PC (both UL 94 HB). Both case shells have pre-moulded threads, enabling either the flat or the high part of the case to be used as the base. The lid is recessed to protect a membrane keypad or product label. All the fixings are hidden beneath plastic trims that are available in light grey (RAL 7035), silver grey (RAL 7001), red (RAL 3020), yellow (RAL 1023), green (RAL 6024) or blue (RAL 5017) as standard for colour-coding or branding.

Universal adapter for fitting enclosures to DIN rails

DIN RAIL ADAPTER

DIN rail adapter B6811751 is suitable for fitting small plastic enclosures to TH35, TS15/TH15 and G32 rails. This black (RAL 9005) adapter is supplied with two screws (wall thickness 3 mm/ 0.118"). For the location holes, see the downloadable drawing.

HOLDING CLAMPS FOR ROUND RAILS/TUBES

Holding clamps B4308237 (off-white RAL 9002) and B4308238 (lava) are perfect for clipping large handheld enclosures such as CARRYTEC to round tubes from Ø 32 mm and to standard equipment rails manufactured according to DIN EN ISO 19054 (25 x 10 mm). Fitting the clamp requires the drilling of two location holes, Ø 2.4 mm). Each clamp is supplied with two stainless steel Torx T10 screws (Ø 3 x 8 mm).

WHY PA 6 FOR FASTENERS/ADAPTERS

All the fasteners and adapters are moulded from polyamide PA 6, a dependable plastic that has excellent tensile and impact strength, even at low temperatures. This is beneficial for applications where vibration or hard knocks are expected.

PA 6 is resistant to oils, greases, fuels and many organic solvents, making it suitable for industrial or automotive environments. PA 6 also has good heat resistance but it can be vulnerable to moisture absorption.
